The shop originally started as a small business in November 2001 that served the most basic needs of the South African Community on the North Shore. We now have a selection of more than 1500 products, and the range is still growing!

We strive to provide our customers with most of the products they want, however, with the different regulations on product-import that are in place, we regret that is not always possible. But rest assured we will make every effort to find that exclusive product!

Not only do we serve the local Southern African Community, local KIWI's find our shop "lekker" (great) as well! We also send a lot of products to Australia, the UK and the US, where they are becoming increasingly popular.

South African Shop is a business as well as a "link to home" for new immigrants - an info center and meeting place with other South Africans. The shop is fast becoming a cultural landmark on the North Shore, so if you're longing for a glimpse of South Africa, it will be worth your while to  pay us a visit.You'd be surprised at what you might find! You will find us on the corner of East Coast Road and Rosedale Road (nearby Rangitoto College)

From Auckland or Silverdale on the Motorway take the Greville off-ramp towards Brownsbay. At the first set of traffic lights, turn right into Hugh Green Road and drive untill you get to the roundabout (at Appolo Medical Centre). Take the first exit left into Rosedale Road  and find us 300 meters further on left-hand side just as you aproach the set of traffic lights joining up with East Coast road.
